About Hillcrest

Hillcrest Village was established in 2000 and has been providing outstanding long-term care since 1978 as St. Andrew's Centennial Manor prior to 2000. The Home consists of 164 beds, divided into 6 Home Areas, with either 24, 26, or 32 persons per 'home area'.

At Hillcrest Village we understand that people will come to us full of questions, not knowing where to turn. We understand that long-term care is about more than just meeting health care and physical needs. We strive to create a caring, warm environment so the residents will feel reassured and welcome. We want the residents to feel that Hillcrest Village is their place to call home, and that they are part of the 'family'.

We understand the importance of quality care and are committed to providing excellent care for our residents.

We are dedicated to providing personal attention and exciting programs that occur daily, to fulfill the residents' individual needs. We understand that every individual is unique and has his/her own likes and dislikes. That is why we offer a variety of programs and services to suit the varied needs of the residents at Hillcrest Village.

Families, Friends, and Residents are invited to attend a variety of special events we offer, such as, a Canada Day Celebration, Family Fun Fest, and more. If you are interested in attending a social event, we warmly welcome you, and if you have any questions about the event feel free to contact or talk to one of the managers. Family and friends are always welcome to visit us at anytime, not just for social events.

Thank you for the lovely home you supplied for both Mom and Dad the last two years of their lives. 

Mom loved Hillcrest and thoroughly enjoyed the numerous programs offered. (crafts, bingo, manicures, church services). It was a real treat for her.

Dad was tired, and was thrilled to be able to sleep and eat. He looked forward to his good meals and spoke so highly of Hillcrest. I sincerely appreciate your staff being sensitive to both their needs. We often joked that Dad slept 20 hours a day and used the other four for eating. You have a very caring staff, who treated us all well. A number of times I saw staff members blinking back tears when Mom was so ill for her last nine days. Such compassion! 

For Dad, they took the time to listen to his many stories about the “olden days”. His long-term memory was great. We are so glad that Dad went quickly and peacefully. He was an amazing father, grandfather and great-grandfather. We know Mom and Dad are now re-united.

If your ears have been ringing over the past two years and in the future, it is our family praising Hillcrest!

Our Family would like to thank all the staff and volunteers who are continually thinking of ways to entertain the residents.

The following two recent events were excellent and gave such joy and laughter to your residents and families:

The “water balloon challenge” on the Heritage patio was so much fun for family and residents…lots of laughs, lots of participators. Even the “wet” nurses seemed to enjoy it.

The Family Fun Fest was unbelievably well organized. Staff/volunteers couldn’t do enough to make sure that everyone was comfortable and having a great time. Always cheerful, always quick to assist when needed.

My husband has been a resident at Hillcrest for three years. 

The Personal Support workers and Nursing staff are so kind and supportive. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. 

The food is quite good and there are always choices at mealtimes. The facility is very clean. 

There are no words to express my appreciation, I’m so thankful knowing that my husband is receiving excellent care at Hillcrest.

Thank you so much for your care and kindness shown to mom these past few years.

You have helped our family understand the unique nature of Long-Term Care in a positive light and for this we thank you all.

Thank you as well for going above and beyond through the pandemic years and allowing us the opportunity to visit with and engage mom on-line to stay connected. It was very kind of you to go the extra mile on behalf of our family.
